1. The short version#
This summary helps you find the important parts. It is not a substitute for the full terms below, which are what legally apply.
- Rixbo Keep is free. Rixbo Premium is an optional subscription, sold only through Google Play.
- Premium renews automatically until you cancel in Google Play. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.
- Your content is yours. We claim no rights to it, and we can't access it.
- You hold the keys. If you forget your backup or sync passphrase, we cannot recover your data. Keep backups.
- It's a record-keeping tool, not advice. Don't rely on reminders or budgets alone for anything critical.
- Your legal rights as a consumer are not affected. Nothing here takes away rights your local law gives you.
2. Agreement to these terms, who we are, and minimum age#
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Rixbo, Dhaka, Bangladesh (“Rixbo”, “we”, “us”).
They apply to the Rixbo Keep mobile app (the “App”), the Rixbo Premium subscription (“Premium”) and the website at https://rixbo.com (the “Website”). Together, we call these the “Services”.
By installing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that is higher, to use the Services. If you are under 18 (or under the age of majority where you live), you may only use the Services, and buy Premium, with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms for you.
3. The app and your licence#
The App is distributed through Google Play. Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
This licence is not a sale. We (and our licensors) keep all rights not expressly given to you. Google Play's own terms also apply to how you download the App.
The App works offline and does not need an account. Parts of it, such as Premium sync and purchases, need an internet connection and a Google account.
4. Your content and your responsibilities#
You own your content
Everything you enter or attach in the App — records, tasks, notes, attachments, credentials, links and settings (“Your Content”) — belongs to you. We claim no ownership or licence over it. Because it is stored on your device (and, if you use Premium, encrypted in your own Google Drive), we cannot access it.
Your device, PIN and passphrases
You are solely responsible for keeping your device secure and for your app PIN, your backup passphrase and your sync passphrase.
A lost passphrase means lost data. We never receive your passphrases, so we cannot reset them, recover them or decrypt your data for you. This is by design.
Backups
Your Content lives on your device. If the device is lost, stolen, broken or reset, Your Content may be lost for good unless you have a backup. We strongly recommend that you export encrypted backups regularly and keep them somewhere safe, or use Premium sync.
Known limitation: in version 1.0, photos and files attached to notes are not included in cloud sync or backups. They stay on the device only.
You are responsible for Your Content and for making sure you have the right to store it.

What Premium includes
Premium adds cloud sync and automatic backup of your vault to a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive, end-to-end encrypted with your sync passphrase. Everything else in the App is free. Photos and files attached to notes are not included in version 1.0.
Billing through Google Play
Premium is sold only through Google Play, using the payment method in your Google account. Google processes all payments, and the Google Play Terms of Service apply to your purchase. We don't receive your payment details.
Prices
Premium is available as a monthly plan (US$4 per month) or a yearly plan (US$29 per year). Google Play shows prices in your local currency and may adjust them for your country, including taxes. Prices may vary by region; the final price is shown in Google Play before you pay.
Introductory offers
New subscribers may be offered an introductory price for their first billing period: US$1 for the first month of the monthly plan, or US$10 for the first year of the yearly plan (or the local equivalent shown in Google Play). Each introductory offer is available once per eligible Google account, as determined by Google Play. When the introductory period ends, your subscription automatically continues at the regular price for your plan unless you cancel.
Automatic renewal
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and Google Play charges you the then-current price for your plan, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
How to cancel
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile icon, then Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Choose Rixbo Premium and tap Cancel subscription.
You can also cancel at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. Uninstalling the App does not cancel your subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep Premium until then.
Refunds
Refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy. You can request one through Google Play. If you have a problem with a charge, you can also email us at support@rixbo.com and we will look into it. Nothing in this section limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the consumer law of your country.
Price changes
We may change Premium prices. If we raise the price of your existing subscription, Google Play will notify you in advance, following its notice rules, and where required you will be asked to accept the new price. If you don't want to pay the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Restoring on a new device
Your subscription is linked to your Google account, not to a device. To use Premium on a new phone, sign in to Google Play with the same account, install the App and use Restore purchases in the App.
When Premium ends
If your subscription ends for any reason, you keep all data on your device and full use of every free feature. Only cloud sync and automatic backup stop. Data already stored in your Google Drive stays yours, in your Drive, until you delete it (see the Privacy Policy).
6. Acceptable use#
When using the Services, you agree not to:
- copy, modify, decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble the App, except where the law allows this despite this restriction;
- bypass, disable or interfere with licensing, purchase checks or Premium entitlements;
- use the Services to store or share content that is illegal, or to break any law;
- rent, sell, sublicense or redistribute the App;
- attack, overload or disrupt the Website, or try to gain unauthorised access to any system;
- use the Rixbo name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.
7. Third-party services#
The Services rely on services we don't control, including Google Play (downloads and billing), Google Drive (Premium sync) and your device's operating system (for example the keystore, biometrics, notifications and alarms). Your use of them is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We aren't responsible for their availability, changes or failures — for example if Google Drive is unavailable or your phone's battery settings stop reminders from firing. We will do our reasonable best to adapt the App when they change.
8. Updates, availability and changes to features#
We may release updates to fix bugs, improve security or add features. Some updates may be needed to keep using the App or Premium.
We may change or discontinue features, or the Services as a whole. When a change significantly affects you, we will try to give reasonable notice in the App or on the Website. If we remove Premium features you have paid for, we will honour them until the end of your current paid period, or give a pro-rata refund where the law requires it.
We don't promise that the Services will always be available or error-free.
9. Intellectual property#
The App, the Website, their design and code, and the names “Rixbo” and “Rixbo Keep” and the Rixbo logo are owned by Rixbo or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don't give you any rights to them, except the licence in section 3.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Google Play and the Google Play logo are trademarks of Google LLC. Google Drive is a trademark of Google LLC. Android is a trademark of Google LLC.
10. Disclaimers#
Your consumer rights come first. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights in your country that no contract can take away — for example under consumer law in the EU, UK or Australia. Nothing in these Terms, including this section and section 11, limits those rights.
Not professional advice. Rixbo Keep is a record-keeping and organising tool. It does not give financial, tax, legal, investment or security advice. It is not a bank and does not move money. Check anything important with a qualified professional.
Don't rely on it for critical deadlines. Budgets, totals, recurring entries and reminders depend on what you enter and on your device. They may be wrong, late or may not fire at all — for example because of battery-saving settings, a restarted or powered-off device, or the operating system. Please don't rely on the App alone for critical deadlines, medication, payments or legal obligations.
As is. To the fullest extent the law allows, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. No security method is perfect.
11. Limitation of liability#
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- Rixbo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue or data — including data lost because of a forgotten passphrase, a lost or reset device, or a missing backup.
- Rixbo's total liability for all claims relating to the Services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for Premium in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) US$50.
These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them. In particular, nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, we are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage caused by our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.
12. Indemnity#
If a third party brings a claim against Rixbo because you used the Services in breach of these Terms or broke the law, you agree to cover Rixbo's reasonable losses and costs resulting from that claim, to the extent caused by your breach. This does not apply to the extent the claim was caused by our own fault, and it does not apply where the consumer law of your country doesn't allow it.
13. Termination#
You can stop using the Services at any time by uninstalling the App. If you have Premium, remember to also cancel it in Google Play — uninstalling doesn't cancel it.
We may suspend or end your licence if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or if we must do so by law. Where reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. Because Your Content is on your device, ending the licence doesn't give us access to it, and we encourage you to export it.
Sections 4 (ownership), 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 16, and any other terms that by their nature should continue, survive after these Terms end.
14. Governing law and disputes#
Talk to us first. If you have a problem, please email support@rixbo.com and describe it. We'll try to resolve it informally within 30 days. Most issues can be fixed this way.
Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and disputes will be handled by the courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Your home protections still apply. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your home country where that law allows. EU consumers can also use their national consumer dispute bodies.
15. Changes to these terms#
We may update these Terms, for example when we change features or when the law changes. We'll post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date. For significant changes, we'll give you reasonable notice in the App or on the Website before they take effect.
Changes don't apply retroactively. If you keep using the Services after the changes take effect, the new Terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using the Services and cancel Premium at any time.
16. General#
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between you and Rixbo about the Services.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours, for example if Rixbo is merged or sold, as long as your rights under these Terms are not reduced.
- Language. These Terms may be translated. If a translation differs from the English version, the English version prevails, unless your local law requires otherwise.
- Events outside our control. We aren't responsible for delays or failures caused by events we can't reasonably control.
